Städtische Theater Chemnitz GmbH / Ballet Chemnitz is looking for the season 2019/20 for a very experienced Company Pianist (m/f). The applicant must have accomplished academic studies in music and conducting or have similar qualification.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides musical accompaniment for company class, rehearsals and warm up before the performances of the Ballet Chemnitz as well as for Ballet Premiere and Repertory if required.
Consistently offer creative and innovative musical repertoire for class.
Prepares music for rehearsal. Adapts, arranges, learns and studies (using available audio or video materials), piano transcription of orchestral, chamber, concerto, choral scores as well as piano solo scores.
Under supervision of conductors, consults with choreographers and rehearsal coaches regarding such musical aspects as tempo, phrasing, counting, cutting music, extending music via repeats or additional pieces.
Maintain accurate and detailed descriptions of choreography in rehearsal scores.
Attends dress rehearsal of assigned ballets.
Performs other duties as required such as playing with the orchestra.
Musical assistance for rehearsals and performances without Live-Music.
The candidate should have substantial experience playing piano with a major dance company and ability to rehearse, vary and interpret music. In addition teamwork, intuition and patience are essential for the work. Fulltime Contract Tarifvertrag NV-Bühne.
