Los apartados que el festival dedica a la danza contemporánea y urbana convergen en una sola competición que aglutina ambas modalidades y repartirá un total de 27.000 euros en premios. La sección ‘Danza en el Camino’ reunirá, por su parte, algunas creaciones expresamente diseñadas para el Camino de Santiago, mientras que 'Bailando con piedras' llevará la danza a los entornos de la Catedral burgalesa. El plazo para la recepción de las propuestas finaliza el próximo 15 de mayo.
Danza urbana y contemporánea
El apartado de ‘Danza en el Teatro’ -a escena en el coliseo de la capital burgalesa del 26 al 28 de julio- aglutinará las modalidades de contemporánea y urbana. Abierta a la exhibición de obras inspiradas en tendencias como Graham, Limón o Cunningham, pasando por el neoclasicismo actual o estilos como Forsythe o Killyan y al hip-hop, popping, locking, house, bboying o breaking, así como las nuevas fusiones con otros lenguajes actuales, repartirá en esta convocatoria un total que asciende a 27.000 euros.
Esta competición otorgará un total de siete premios (el primer premio dotado con 9.000 euros, el segundo con 6.000, el tercero con 4.000 y un cuarto y un quinto con 3.000 y 2.000 euros, respectivamente). Además, los finalistas de esta categoría podrán optar al Premio del Público que, dotado con 1.000 euros, concederán los espectadores con sus votaciones y al Premio JCDCYL que, dotado con 2.000 euros, se destinará a tres creadores cuyas obras serán interpretadas durante la gira de la Joven Compañía de Danza de Castilla y León.
‘Danza en el Camino’ se extiende a Logroño
El apartado ‘Danza en la Calle’ se reforzará en la programación del Certamen. Y es la competición ‘Danza en el Camino’, un apartado que propone una relectura del patrimonio cultural e histórico a partir de la selección de tres coreografías inspiradas en el Camino de Santiago, se extenderá a Logroño. Patrocinado por la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Castilla y León con la colaboración de las diputaciones de Burgos, León y Palencia y la Xunta de Galicia (AGADIC), esta sección repartirá un total de 22.000 euros. Estas obras podrán verse entre los días 11 y 23 de julio en 13 emplazamientos del camino jacobeo a su paso por las comunidades autónomas de Castilla y León, Galicia y La Rioja. De forma adicional, recalará por segundo año en el Museo Guggenheim Bilbao.
A la sección ‘Danza en el Camino’, se le suma ‘Bailando con piedras’ que exhibirá un total de seis creaciones en los entornos de la Catedral de Burgos. Esta competición, que repartirá 6.000 euros en sus tres premios (primer galardón de 3.000 euros, el segundo de 2.000 euros y el tercero de 1.000 euros), está abierta a propuestas de danza de cualquier lenguaje coreográfico y estilo, creadas para ser expuestas en espacios públicos y cuyo motor principal sea el uso del espacio abierto y la cercanía con el público.
‘Arte urbano’
Completará la programación la sección que el festival dedica al ‘Arte urbano’, cuyas propuestas se vertebrarán en dos concursos: la competición ‘Street Art–Muralismo’, abierta la participación de artistas y colectivos que ya hayan realizado trabajos de gran formato completa; y ‘Burgos T-Mueve’, un certamen para coreografías grabadas con teléfono móvil. La propuesta seleccionada en la competición de ‘Street Art-Muralismo’ se llevará un único premio de 3.000 euros y el trabajo vencedor en la categoría de ‘Burgos T-Mueve’ tendrá una recompensa de 400 euros, así como otros galardones de 300, 200 y 100 euros.

The sections that the festival dedicates to contemporary and urban dance converge in a single competition that brings together both modalities and will distribute a total of 27,000 euros in prizes. The section 'Danza en el Camino' will bring together, for its part, some creations expressly designed for the Camino de Santiago, while 'Bailando con piedras' will take dance to the surroundings of the Cathedral of Burgos. The deadline for the reception of proposals is May 15.
Contemporary and urban dance
The 'Danza en el Teatro' section -to be staged at the coliseum of the capital of Burgos from July 26 to 28- will bring together the contemporary and urban modalities. Open to the exhibition of works inspired by trends like Graham, Limón or Cunningham, going through the current neoclassicism or styles like Forsythe or Killyan and hip-hop, popping, locking, house, bboying or breaking, as well as new fusions with other current languages, will distribute in this call a total amount of 27,000 euros.
This competition will award a total of seven prizes (first prize of 9,000 euros, second prize of 6,000 euros, third prize of 4,000 euros, and fourth and fifth prizes of 3,000 and 2,000 euros, respectively). In addition, the finalists in this category will be eligible for the Audience Award which, endowed with 1,000 euros, will be granted by the spectators with their votes and the JCDCYL Award which, endowed with 2,000 euros, will go to three creators whose works will be performed during the tour of the Joven Compañía de Danza de Castilla y León (Young Dance Company of Castilla y León).
Danza en el Camino' is extended to Logroño
The section ‘Open Air Dance’ will be reinforced in the programming of the Contest. And it is the competition 'Dancen on Camino de Santiago‘, a section that proposes a re-reading of the cultural and historical heritage from the selection of three choreographies inspired by the Camino de Santiago, will be extended to Logroño. Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Castilla y León with the collaboration of the councils of Burgos, León and Palencia and the Xunta de Galicia (AGADIC), this section will distribute a total of 22,000 euros. These works will be on display between July 11 and 23 at 13 locations along the Jacobean route as it passes through the autonomous communities of Castilla y León, Galicia and La Rioja. In addition, for the second year it will be held at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
In addition to the 'Dance on Camino de Santiago‘ section, 'Dancing with Stones' will showcase a total of six creations in the surroundings of the Cathedral of Burgos. This competition, which will distribute 6,000 euros in its three prizes (first prize of 3,000 euros, second prize of 2,000 euros and third prize of 1,000 euros), is open to dance proposals of any choreographic language and style, created to be exhibited in public spaces and whose main engine is the use of open space and proximity to the public.
Urban Art
Completing the program will be the section of the festival dedicated to 'Urban Art', whose proposals will be structured in two competitions: the 'Street Art-Muralism' competition, open to artists and groups that have already made complete large-format works; and 'Burgos T-Mueve', a contest for choreographies recorded with cell phones. The proposal selected in the 'Street Art-Muralism' competition will win a single prize of 3,000 euros and the winning entry in the 'Burgos T-Mueve' category will be awarded 400 euros, as well as other prizes of 300, 200 and 100 euros.
