PUNCHDRUNK INTERNATIONAL - OPEN AUDITIONS FOR MALE & FEMALE DANCERS
Punchdrunk International is looking for male and female dancers for their current production of Sleep No More in Shanghai. Punchdrunk are pioneers of a game changing form of theatre in which roaming audiences experience epic storytelling inside sensory theatrical worlds. Blending classic texts, physical performance, award-winning design installation and unexpected sites, the company’s infectious format rejects the passive obedience usually expected of audiences.Their performance style requires committed, versatile dancers with very strong improvisation and devising skills. They should be a dynamic and charismatic performer with strong contact/partnering skills and an interest in acting and narrative.An excellent contemporary dance technique and a minimum of 3 years professional experience is essential. We are also especially keen to meet with dancers who are fluent in Mandarin, however this is not essential. Please note that successful applicants will be required pass a physical assessment to be eligible for a Chinese visa. Full availability from August 2018 to September 2019 is required. Punchdrunk invites you to attend an open audition on Saturday 24th March 2018 from 15:00hrs. To pre-register please email casting@punchdrunk.org.uk by noon on Wednesday March 21st 2018. You will be allocated an audition slot in advance of your arrival. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.Subject to numbers not every applicant will be guaranteed an audition. All attendees are required to bring a current passport sized photograph and a copy of their CV including headshots with them. Recall auditions will be held on Sunday 25th March 2018.
